Providing quality equipment sales, service and parts, Kahn Tractor & Equipment, Inc. has been located at the junction of CT Routes 32 and 207 in Franklin, Connecticut since 1961.
Kahn Tractor was first known as Manning Farm Supply, an agricultural supply center, established in 1948. Jim Kahn bought the business in 1961 and changed the name to Kahn Tractor & Equipment, Inc. At that time, the market area of North Franklin, Connecticut, was dominated by agriculture, our customer base consisted mostly of farmers and we primarily sold farm equipment.
By 1984, the area saw a shift toward construction and industrialization. In order to meet the growing demand for construction machinery, Kahn's took on heavy construction equipment and made several changes to our facilties to accomodate servicing the larger equipment. Our parts department expanded to accomodate increased inventory and to add a hardware store. Rental services were added to further accomodate our customers.
Over the past 48 years, we have seen many changes and have continued to grow to accomodate the area's needs. We currently carry a full line of Cub Cadet and Kubota lawn and garden tractors to meet the needs of every homeowner. For customers with larger lawns or small hobby farms, we have several models of Kubota and New Holland compact tractors. There are a wide range of mowers, post-hole diggers, blades and accessories available to fit the compact tractors. There are currently several different model RTV's on display in our showroom.
We continue to carry a full line of agricultural equipment including tractors, round and square balers, manure spreaders, choppers, and tedders. We are the area hay experts!
For our landscape contractors, we have a wide range of landscape and nursery equipment. Both our landscape customers and homeowners will appreciate our Stihl display. It is located in our parts room and includes many models of chainsaws, blowers, and accessories. We also carry wood splitters and chippers.
To meet the larger equipment needs of many contractors in the area, we carry Hyundai, New Holland, and Kubota equipment. These include excavators, mini-excavators, skidsteers, tractors, loaders and backhoes. To move this equipment around there are several models and sizes of trailers in stock including Interstate, Bri-Mar, and Pequea.
Despite all of the changes and growth that have occurred over the years, the one thing that has remained unchanged is our commitment to our customers.
